Since 1875
A hundred and fifty years on the same corner
The Creekside has stood at the top of Scott Street since 1875, two storeys of cream render behind a white iron lacework verandah, looking out across the Yarriambiack. Generations of Warracknabeal have met here.
Today it is run by Skye Dubignon, who also has the Welshpool Hotel down in Gippsland. Her Welshpool team helped shape the menu here and still swap notes with the Creekside kitchen, which is a good part of why a Wimmera pub is holding a state award.
“It’s the kitchen team, and it’s the front of house team up at Creekside that have really brought this home, and they should be so proud of themselves, and they deserve full credit.”
In a country pub, the locals are the whole thing. Ours have turned up, and we are very glad of it.
